Troubleshooting Error: The Request Timed Out

If you’re seeing a “The request timed out” error when using the mobile app, it typically means the app wasn’t able to complete a connection to our servers within the expected time. This can happen for a few reasons, most of which are easy to fix.

Common Causes and Fixes

1. Check Your Internet Connection

  • Wi-Fi: Ensure you’re connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. Try toggling Wi-Fi off and on.

  • Cellular Data: If you’re on cellular, make sure data is enabled and that you have a strong signal.

  • If the issue persists, try disconnecting from Wi-Fi and switching to cellular data, or vice versa, to see if the issue is related to your network.
✅ Try visiting a website or using another app that needs the internet to confirm your connection is working.

2. Force Close and Reopen the App

  • This can refresh the connection and clear any temporary issues.

  • On iOS or Android, swipe up or use the recent apps menu to close the app, then reopen it.

3. Restart Your Device

  • A simple restart can resolve network or system-level hiccups that may interfere with the app’s ability to connect.

4. Try Again Later

  • The issue could be temporary. If our servers are experiencing high load or there’s a service disruption, the request may time out.
